Weather

1.Do you like raining?

Oh, absolutely not. I hate raining days. I have to admit that weather is able to exert dramatic impacts on how I feel. If it is raining cats and dogs, I have to take an umbrella with an already quite heavy handbag, which really annoys me and drives me crazy. Sometimes my shoes and socks get wetted by the rain and it is very likely for to catch a cold in this way.

2.What kind of weather do you like the most?

Sunny and warm, without doubt, and that is the reason for me to favor summer above all the other seasons. Summer's warm sun, ripe fruit and beautiful blooms hold a very special place in my heart. Lying in the sun and watching the clouds in the sky will cheer me up and drive all the troubles away, and I guess that’s why people living in rainy places suffer more depression than those who live in sunny regions.

3.Does weather have any influence on you?

Oh, weather can have dramatics impacts on how I feel. Walking under the sun in the morning gives me hope and energy for a whole’s work. Also, lying in the sun and watching the clouds in the sky will cheer me up and drive all the troubles away. On the contrary, if it is raining cats and dogs, I have to take an umbrella with an already quite heavy handbag, which really annoys me and drives me crazy.

4.Which season do you like best, why?

Summer's warm sun, ripe fruit and beautiful blooms hold a very special place in my heart. I fondly look back to summer throughout all the other months of the year. I wish I could live at the Equator where there is only this one characteristic climate. More importantly, drinking coca cola, eating ice-cream and swimming for hours are all perfectly justifiable thanks to summer.

5.Which one do you prefer, a place with changeable seasons or a place with unaltered seasons?

As I have mentioned, I love summer, so I wish I could live at the Equator where there is only this one characteristic climate. Unaltered season means that I do not have to worry about a wide range of clothes that best suit different temperatures. All what I need to worry about is fashion and style. Besides, living with only one season doesn’t require a person to adjust him or herself frequently, so the chance of catching a cold will be relatively low.

雅思口語Part2話題范文:book you want to read again

Describe a book you recently read that you would like to read again.

You should say:

What the book is about

Why you read it

What you learned from this book

And explain why you would like to read it again.

范文

Ok, well after a bit of thought, I’ve decided that the book I’d like to talk about is one called Think Like DaVinci, as it's definitely a book I would like to read again at some point, for reasons I'll come on to shortly.

But firstly though, with regard to what the book’s about, well in a nutshell, it basically explains how all of us have the capability and potential to become a genius, like DaVinci. And it outlines a few various things that he used to do, which we can also get into the habit of doing. So essentially, it puts forward some ideas on how we can all live to our full potential.

Anyway, as for what made me read it, well if my memory serves me correctly, I was browsing around in my local bookshop one day, and the book's cover kind of just caught my eye when I saw the name DaVinci written in big bold letters. So I read a few pages to see if it was any good, and ended up buying it.

I should also mention the fact that I'm quite a big fan of self-help books, because on the whole, I tend to learn quite a lot from them, and this book was definitely no exception. Just to give you an example, I would say I've learned to become much more observant after reading this book, such as generally paying more attention to everything around me. And in so doing, it’s made me appreciate things a lot more.

Of course, there were a number of other things I learned, but nothing else is coming to mind right now, and that's really kind of why I wanna read the book again, because I've forgotten a lot of it. So I kind of need torefresh my memory a little bit!

Notes:

Point - a particular moment in time

in a nutshell - 簡單來說,basically (in the fewest words possible)

Describe an interesting conversation or speech that you’ve heard.

You should say:

Who was talking

What the talk was about

Where you heard it

And explain why the talk was interesting / what you learned from the talk.

范文

Ok right then, well I’ve decided to talk about a speech I once heard that left a really deep impression on me, and it was by a guy called Li Kaifu, who I’m not sure if you’ve heard of before, but he’s one of the most accomplished and respected businessmen here in China, which is why I made the effort to listen to what he had to say. And I listened to it at home on my computer, cos I was lucky enough to find an mp3 recording online of a speech he once gave at Beijing University.

But anyway, as for what he talked about, well it was quite a while ago when I heard it, probably about two or 3 years ago, so I can only remember bits of it, but in a nutshell, it was about success and how we can go about achieving it. So for example, one thing he touched upon was how we should all follow our dreams, instead of simply doing what other people expect of us. And hearing this from Li Kaifu really made me believe in the truth of that statement, because he’s speaking from experience.

So I thought it was really informative and I was able to learn a tremendous amount from it, such as, you know, how to be successful in what we do, and also what values we should live our lives by. What else?……um……Oh yeah, and another thing that made his talk especially interesting was the fact that he used a lot of stories. So I mean, even though his talk went on for over an hour or so, I didn’t feel bored at all listening to it. So um yeah, that’s pretty much everything I can remember about it. Thanks for listening!

Notes:

How we can go about achieving it……

Touch upon = 提到

They attribute their success to the fact that ……

Informative = 增進(jìn)知識(shí)的

His talk went on for over an hour = 他的演講延續(xù)了一個(gè)多小時(shí)

……or so = 左右

What else?…Oh yeah, = 還有什么?……

that’s pretty much everything I can remember about it = 我能記得差不多就這些!
