Duanwu Festival is a traditional Chinese festival held on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Double Fifth.[citation needed] It has since been celebrated, in various ways, in other parts of East Asia as well. In the West, it's commonly known as Dragon Boat Festival.

The exact origins of Duan Wu are unclear, but one traditional view holds that the festival memorializes the Chinese poet Qu Yuan (c. 340 BC-278 BC) of the Warring States Period. He committed suicide by drowning himself in a river because he was disgusted by the corruption of the Chu government. The local people, knowing him to be a good man, decided to throw food into the river to feed the fish so they would not eat Qu's body. They also sat on long, narrow paddle boats called dragon boats, and tried to scare the fish away by the thundering sound of drums aboard the boat and the fierce looking carved dragon head on the boat's prow。

In the early years of the Chinese Republic, Duan Wu was also celebrated as "Poets' Day," due to Qu Yuan's status as China's first poet of personal renown.

Today, people eat bamboo-wrapped steamed glutinous rice dumplings called zongzi (the food originally intended to feed the fish) and race dragon boats in memory of Qu's dramatic death.

I have gone through many traditional festivals, and I have been very impressed by the Dragon Boat Festival.

On the day of Dragon Boat Festival, when I was playing computer games excitedly, I smelled a smell. Suddenly, my soul is the "aroma mihunzhen" to "hook" away. I didnt mind playing the game at once, so I walked reluctantly into the kitchen. I saw her mother was holding a bamboo leaves zongzi. That scent makes me "three thousand feet"! I walked up to my mother-in-law and looked at her mother-in-law with begging eyes. She clutched the sleeves of her mother-in-law with both hands, and a poor specimen overflowed from my face. My mother-in-law "resist" the "poor city", he reluctantly smiled, and said: "well, you dont want to? But I didnt finish the dumplings. You have to help me. " For the delicious zongzi, I bag! Who is afraid of who! I roll up the sleeves, make a to a big way, pick up the leaves opened the package. After a while, five or six zongzi will be wrapped up! The mother-in-law said, "you child, your craft has improved." My mother in law stroked my head and began to publish my long winded speech. I dont want to listen to my mother-in-laws nagging. Then I say, "zongzi, well, call me!" On the other hand, "escape".

Sitting on the computer, I cant help screaming eighty million dB. Originally, when I went downstairs, I didnt turn off the computer game and let my opponent win. "Ah! My god! Did I provoke you? Why is this to me? Why! Ah! The ceiling is quickly uncovered by me! But why... Oh...
