相思愁苦之花。孟郊的《怨詩》以癡心傻氣的想象來抒發(fā)女主人公愁苦深重的相思之情。“試妾與君淚,兩處滴池水??慈≤饺鼗ǎ衲隇檎l死!”兩地相思的閑愁苦恨是看不見,摸不著的,也是沒大小,沒體積,不具形象的東西,測定起來很不容易,可是詩中女主人公卻異想天開:試把我們兩個人的眼淚,分別滴在荷花池中,看一看今夏美麗的荷花被誰的淚水浸泡而死。顯然,在她心目中看來,誰滴的淚多,誰的淚更苦澀,荷花就將為誰而“死”,那么,誰的相思之情更深,自然也就測定出來了。比試滴淚,滴淚成池,淚淹芙蓉,見證愛情,此等癡心透骨的情語非性情中人不能設想。出污泥而不染的“芙蓉花”成了男女主人公相思離情的可靠見證。李商隱的《板橋曉別》化用典故,抒寫情人的離別苦情。“回望高城落曉河,長亭窗戶壓微波。水仙欲上鯉魚去,一夜芙蓉紅淚多?!币弧⒍删溥h眺近觀,點明離別的時間、地點和朦朧奇幻的環(huán)境氛圍。三、四兩句分別化用典故寫行者和送者。“水仙”句暗用琴高事。《列仙傳》上說,琴高是戰(zhàn)國時趙人,行神仙道術,曾乘赤鯉來,留月余復入水而去,詩人此處把遠行之人比著乘鯉凌波而去的水仙,化實為虛,奇幻天真?!凹t淚”句暗用薛靈蕓事。據《拾遺記》記載,魏文帝美人薛靈蕓離別父母登車上路,用玉唾壺承淚,壺呈紅色,到了京師壺中淚凝如血,詩人此處將送行者(女主人公)暗喻為水中芙蓉,以表現了她的紅潤美艷;又由紅色芙蓉進而想象出它的淚也應該是“紅淚”。這樣,一朵艷艷芙蓉勾畫出了俏麗佳人泣血神傷的情景。
