走不快，面也吃完了。老班長釣魚給我們吃。可是我沒看見老班長吃魚。有一天我終于明白了，老班長一直吃我們吃剩的魚骨頭，我覺得好像有萬根鋼針扎著喉管，真不是滋味。老班長不讓我把這件事告訴兩個小同起，因為這是指導(dǎo)員交給他的任務(wù)。

快走出草地了，我們的精神特別好，去找野菜，卻不見老班長回來，找到時他已昏迷不醒。救老班長最好的辦法就是趕快讓他吃東西。可是魚怎么也不上鉤，這是一個革命戰(zhàn)士的生命啊！總算釣上來一條小魚。老班長見到我端著魚湯說：“我沒有把你們照顧好，你們不要浪費東西了，看你們都瘦……”突然間他的手垂了下去。
