Monday was Nick's first day at the National Trust Bank. He wanted to make a good impression.

　　星期一是尼克到國家信托銀行上班的第一天，他希望能給別人留下一個好印象。

　　When he arrived at work, everyone was already very busy. No one even bothered to look up from their work. He took his spot at counter number three and began to serve clients as they came in.

　　他到銀行報到時，大家都已經(jīng)忙得不可開交，忙到?jīng)]有誰會抬頭看他一眼。他在三號柜臺就位，開始為進來的客戶服務。

　　The day was going smoothly1 until about 11 am when two men approached his counter. One of them grabbed2 his new tie. The other pointed3 a gun at him. "This is a holdup. Give us the money", one said.

　　那天本來一直很順利，直到早上十一點時有兩個人走近他的柜臺，其中一人抓住他那條新領帶，另外一人則用槍指著他說：“搶劫，把錢拿來。”

　　Nick was terrified. "It is my first day, I don't know where the safe is," he said. "Don't lie to us, get us the money or we'll shoot you." Nick had to think fast. "Okay, it's down here. Hold on."

　　尼克很害怕地說：“我今天第一天上班，不知道保險箱放哪。”“不要撒謊，快把錢拿出來，不然我就開槍了。”尼克腦筋轉得很快：“好吧，保險箱就在這下面，等一下。”

　　Nick pretended to reach down under his desk. Instead, he got down on the ground, slid under his desk and grabbed both men's legs. He tackled4 them and they fell to the ground. The police were called and Nick saved the day!

　　尼克假裝伸手到他桌子底下，卻反而趴到地上了，從桌子底下滑過去抓住那兩個人的腳使他們摔倒。銀行最后報了警，尼克也化解了那一天的危機！
