A person feared his own shadow and loathed1（討厭） his own footprints, and wanted to leave behind his shadow and footprints very much.

　　So he ran faster and faster, and left more and more footprints. And his shadow chased him faster and faster. But he thought it was because he did not run fast enough. Then he ran forward even faster. In the end he died of exhaustion2 on the road. He did not know that if he hid in shady palaces, there would be no shadow. If he stopped there would be no more footprints. How stupid the person was!

　　有一個(gè)人害怕自己的影子，討厭自己的腳印，一心想甩開自己的影子和腳印跑掉。

　　結(jié)果，他走得越快，留下的腳印就越多；跑得越急，影子也追得越緊。他自己卻認(rèn)為甩不開影子和腳印是跑得太慢，于是更加拼命往前跑，最后終于因用盡力氣而累死在路上。他不知道陰暗的地方就不會(huì)有影子，停住不動(dòng)就不會(huì)有影子，這個(gè)人實(shí)在太愚蠢了。
