Jack1 was a farmer's boy. Once he drove his cart to market. He had butter and eggs to sell. He met a woman on the way. She gave him a piece of silver for a little butter. Then he met a boy. The boy gave him a piece of silver for six eggs. Soon Jack had plenty of silver in his pocket. As Jack went along, a man came up to him, and said, "Stop!" So Jack stopped on the way again. The man gave him some wine. Jack drank it, and fell asleep on the roadside. When Jack woke up, his silver was not in his pocket. It was all gone. The man was a robber2, and poor Jack went home sadly.
