During his abscondence, the overburdened wise man Lin Hui cast away his invaluable1 jade2 passed from his ancestors and chose to advance with his newly born son.
The others said, "It is not to your profit to have discarded the precious jade instead of the child because the child is heavier and larger than the jade. So why did you do that?" Lin Hui responded, "The child is my son and to me is more valuable than the jade."
賢人林回在逃亡途中,因不堪重負,扔掉了價值千金的家傳玉璧,背著自己剛剛出生的兒子,繼續(xù)逃難。
旁人勸說道:“為這剛出生的小孩子放棄千金的玉璧,劃算嗎?您要是怕累贅,小孩子無論是體積還是重量,都比玉璧大得多。真是不能理解您為什么要這樣做?” 林回說:“孩子是我的親骨肉,相比之下,還是骨肉比玉璧值錢。”
