One day, a big tiger was looking for food in a dense1 forest. A fox happened to scurry2 by, so the tiger pounced3 upon the fox and caught it.

　　At this time, the fox suddenly hit upon a bright idea to get itself out of the predicament. It boosted its courage and said to the tiger: "Do you dare to eat me?"

　　“為什么不敢？”老虎一愣。

　　“老天爺派我來(lái)管理你們百獸，你吃了我，就是違抗了老天爺?shù)拿?。我看你有多大的膽子?rdquo;

　　老虎一下子被蒙住了，就放開(kāi)了爪子。

　　狐貍得意地?fù)u了搖尾巴，說(shuō)：“我?guī)е愕桨佾F面前走一趟，讓你看看我的威風(fēng)。”

　　狐貍和老虎，一前一后，朝著森林的深處走去。狐貍神氣活現(xiàn)，搖頭擺尾;老虎半信半疑，東張西望。

　　森林里的野豬、小鹿、黃羊、兔子……看見(jiàn)狐貍大搖大擺地走過(guò)來(lái)，跟往常大不一樣，都弄不明白到底是怎么一回事，究竟是什么原因;再往狐貍身后一看，“呀，是一只大老虎！”大大小小的野獸都嚇得撒腿就逃。

　　這時(shí)候，狐貍得意洋洋，對(duì)老虎說(shuō)：“你看，誰(shuí)不怕我？”
