到了夜晚，家人們都睡熟了，連家中看門的狗狗都臥在自己的窩中，打起盹來。海倫還在如饑似渴地閱讀著。夜深，氣溫降低，海倫一連打了幾個(gè)噴嚏，過了一會(huì)兒，一陣又一陣的倦意向她襲來，她急忙搖搖頭，讓自己清醒過來，可過了幾分鐘，又困了，她咬了一下自己的舌頭，劇痛終于使她清醒，她又打起十二分精神，繼續(xù)遨游在知識(shí)的海洋中。一本盲文書被海倫讀完了，可一陣鉆心的疼痛讓她不禁叫了起來，原來，手上的傷加重了。她不想吵醒爸爸媽媽，又拿起另一本書，她實(shí)在太困了，趴在桌上，睡著了。
