扇子是人人愛好的玩物。扇子的應(yīng)用始于很早的時候，大約在晉代之前就使用了。傳至今日，它的形式并沒有多大的變化。最普通的有紈扇、折扇、葵扇、芭蕉扇等。其制作也很有講究，紈扇制作之精致，與粗俗的蒲扇實在是有天壤之別，紈扇好比北平的少奶奶，蒲扇則好比山村里淳樸的山民。

Fans are a hobby for everyone. The application of fans began very early, about before the Jin Dynasty. To this day, its form has not changed much. The most common ones are Wan fan, folding fan, sunflower fan, banana fan, etc. Its production is also very exquisite. The exquisite production of Wan fan is quite different from the vulgar Pu fan. Wan fan is like the little grandma of Peiping, and Pu fan is like the simple mountain people in the village.

在古代，扇子為女子所喜愛，她們使用扇子絕不僅僅用來扇風(fēng)除汗。她們或裝飾，或蔽丑，或撒嬌，或嬉戲，或寄情。

扇子在我國古代的詩詞中常有提及。唐代詩人王昌齡有“奉帚平明金殿開，且將團(tuán)扇共俳徊。玉顏不及寒鴉色，猶帶昭陽日影來”之詩。是寫宮廷婦女不見王之苦，拿著團(tuán)扇悵望徘徊。杜牧有“銀燭秋光冷畫屏，輕羅小扇撲流螢。天階夜色涼如水，坐看牽牛織女星”。扇子本是夏天用來揮風(fēng)取涼的，秋天就沒有用了所以古詩里常以秋扇比喻棄婦?！端疂G傳》中有：“赤日炎炎似火燒，野田禾苗半枯焦。農(nóng)夫心內(nèi)如湯煮，公子王孫把扇搖?！边@是用扇子來表示貴族們生活之安逸。

Fans are often mentioned in ancient Chinese poems. Wang Changling, a poet of Tang Dynasty, said that "the golden palace of pingming was opened with a broom, and the fan group was wandering in haiku. The jade face is not as bright as the jackdaw, so it still brings the sun shadow of Zhaoyang. It's about the suffering of the palace women who don't see the king, holding the fan and wandering. Du Mu has "silver candle autumn light cold painting screen, light Luo small fan fluttering firefly.". The sky steps are as cool as water at night. Sit and watch the morning glory and Vega. The fan was originally used to wave the wind in summer to get cool, but it was useless in autumn. Therefore, in ancient poetry, autumn fan is often used as a metaphor for abandoned women. In the outlaws of the marsh, "the sun is burning like fire, and the grass in the field is half scorched.". The farmer's heart is like soup, the prince and the grandson shake their fans. " This is the use of fans to show the ease of life of nobles.

在我國古典戲曲中，有許多故事情節(jié)與扇子有關(guān)，如《西游記》《紅樓夢》《包公案》等；還有許多就以扇子為戲名的，如《桃花扇》《買花扇》《檀香扇》等。西洋戲劇也有以扇子為戲名的，如話劇《少奶奶的扇子》，就用珍貴的羽扇來表示女主人的性情。

揮扇，顯得有儒雅之氣(譬如諸葛亮)。古代文人還喜歡在扇子上題字畫畫，既避免了扇面的單調(diào)，又增加了雅趣。唐寅、鄭板橋就留下大量的作品。

扇子還有其他的用處。交際時做禮物，戀愛時來寄情，商店中做廣告，大熱天遮太陽……《南齊書》中記載：“淵人南，以腰扇障日?！碧扑沃畣栐娫唬骸扒椅涨嗉w扇，時將日影遮。”

Fans have other uses. Make gifts when socializing, send love when falling in love, advertise in stores, cover the sun in hot days In the book of the Southern Qi Dynasty, it is recorded that "people in the south of the abyss fan the sun on their backs." Tang and song asked the poem: "and hold the green Wan fan, when the sun shade."

小小的扇子，卻蘊(yùn)藏著深厚的東方文化的精蕾，正應(yīng)了那句“一粒沙里看世界”的哲語。
