二十年過去了，我成了一名畫家?，F(xiàn)在，天天畫那些應酬畫，我都厭倦了。其實，現(xiàn)在哪里有什么風景啊？以前的青山，成了公園；以前的小溪流，成了人工湖；以前的彎彎山路，成了公路……、

Twenty years later, I became a painter. Now, I'm tired of painting those social paintings every day. In fact, where is the scenery now? The former green mountain became a park; the former stream became an artificial lake; the former winding mountain road became a road ,

這時候，我想起了小時候故鄉(xiāng)的風景。那里，山清水秀，誰去了都會喜歡，我為何不去那畫張風景畫呢？我又想：先畫一張二十年前的風景，到那里再畫一張現(xiàn)在的，對比一下，不更好嗎？

At this time, I think of the scenery of my hometown when I was a child. There are beautiful mountains and rivers. Anyone who goes there will like it. Why don't I draw a landscape painting there? I thought again: first draw a picture of the landscape twenty years ago, and then draw a picture of the present one. By contrast, isn't it better?

我迫不及待地畫好了一張二十年前的風景，雖然記得不是很清楚，可看在我眼里卻是那么地美麗。我來到了江西老家，以為那美麗的一刻又會出現(xiàn)在我眼前。

I can't wait to draw a picture of the landscape twenty years ago. Although I don't remember it clearly, it is so beautiful in my eyes. I came to my hometown in Jiangxi and thought that beautiful moment would come back to me.

可我卻大大失望了！秀麗的風景不見了，變成了高高的樓房，一座座摩天大樓正在修建……我問了一個住在這兒的親戚，只見他嘆口氣，說到：“國家的進步太快了，到處建房子建路，這風景，哪留得住啊？”國家啊，你進步的這么快，有什么用呢？進步的快是好事，可要為什么破壞這風景呢？我失望地回去了。

But I was greatly disappointed! The beautiful scenery disappeared and became high buildings. Skyscrapers were under construction I asked a relative who lived here. He sighed and said, "the progress of our country is too fast. We build houses and roads everywhere. How can we keep the scenery?" Country ah, you progress so fast, what's the use? Fast progress is a good thing, but why destroy the scenery? I went back disappointed.

從此，那幅畫，成了我最珍貴的作品。

Since then, that painting has become my most precious work.
