Autumn begins is the 13th throttle in 24 solar terms, August 7, 8 or 9, beginning of Autumn. "Autumn" means to heat to cold, means the beginning of autumn. In the beginning of autumn, buttonwood will start falling leaves, hence "autumn fall leaf known" idiom. Beginning of autumn is the autumn of the first solar term, and autumn is by hot cold, again by the transitional turn cold cold season.

　　Stick to fall fat

　　立秋(Autumn begins)，是二十四節(jié)氣中的第13個節(jié)氣，每年8月7、8或9日立秋。“秋”就是指暑去涼來，意味著秋天的開始。到了立秋，梧桐樹必定開始落葉，因此才有“落一葉而知秋”的成語。從文字角度來看，“秋”字由禾與火字組成，是禾谷成熟的意思。立秋是秋季的第一個節(jié)氣，而秋季又是由熱轉(zhuǎn)涼，再由涼轉(zhuǎn)寒的過渡性季節(jié)。

　　貼秋膘

　　民間流行在立秋這天以懸秤稱人，將體重與立夏時對比。因為人到夏天，本就沒有什么胃口，飯食清淡簡單，兩三個月下來，體重大都要減少一點。秋風(fēng)一起，胃口大開，想吃點好的，增加一點營養(yǎng)，補(bǔ)償夏天的損失，補(bǔ)的辦法就是“貼秋膘”：在立秋這天各種各樣的肉，燉肉烤肉紅燒肉等等，“以肉貼膘”。
