暑期就要到了，許多朋友可能又在計劃出游的路線（itinerary）或是出游的方式。有些人喜歡參加由旅行社包辦的旅游項目（packaged tour），有些人則偏好自己獨行（venture out）。
　　
　　無論是老少皆宜的休閑觀光（leisure travel），還是旨在擴展視野的異域之旅（exotic travel），只要有一些時間、金錢、精力、心情或同行伙伴，絕大多數(shù)的朋友一定會選擇外出旅游。
　　
　　近年來，有一種旅游吸引了不少人，那就是：extreme tourism（極限旅游）。
　　
　　單從名稱上，我們就可以知道這種旅游不是老少皆宜、合家歡式的輕松之旅。“extreme”一詞意味著“極度、極端、激烈”，而extreme tourism也正是指這樣的一種旅游方式：
　　
　　 “Tourism that involves travelling to dangerous places or participating in dangerous events.”
　　
　　還有人將這種旅游做如下的解釋：
　　
　　 "Ah, vacation! Balmy breezes, ice-cold margaritas, compliant snipers. Snipers? Yep. The newest kick for jaded tourists who have hit all the world's hot spots is to hit the world's really hot spots. The idea behind what some are calling terror travel or extreme tourism is basically to take the U.S. State Department's travel advisory warning list and make an itinerary out of it."

　　看來還真有一批膽大的人，政府部門發(fā)出旅游警示，建議大家不要去的地方，恰恰是這些無畏人士心儀向往之目的地。
　　
　　愿意或能夠奔赴這種極限之旅的人頗有一種“明知山中有老虎，偏向虎山行”的氣概。不知這是一種勇于挑戰(zhàn)的激情，還是一種甘受自虐的心理。無論怎樣，“安全第一（S- First）”總是出行時需要牢記的一句話。
